Study skills class
This seminar is designed for military, civilians and dependents returning to college after a long absence. The primary focus of study skills is to introduce individuals to time management in order to balance the demands of school and working life. Other modules include memory, reading for comprehension and test taking tips.
In this course students will assess their learning style, make a study calendar and establish goals. Classes are Aug. 8 and Sept. 12, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at the education center, Room 103.

Force Development Education
- Officer 101 is a career maximization course for first and second lieutenants, captains without SOS, and enlisted personnel interested in commissioning. The course will be held July 24, 8 a.m. - noon, at the education center, Room 105.
- Basic Listening Skills teaches students the essentials of listening, and how to avoid challenges by through better communication skills. The course is open to all military and civilian personnel July 25, 8 - 10 a.m., at the education center, Room 105.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Embry-Riddle's ties with the U.S. military go back to World War II, when more than 25,000 aviators and maintenance technicians trained at the school. Bachelor and Master's degrees are offered, along with certificates of completion. Students can complete courses in the classroom, on-line or through a combination of both. Qualified Bachelor degree students can be awarded up to 36 advanced standing credits; Master's degree students are also eligible for advance credit upon qualification. Individuals desiring an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license can earn the AMT Certificate of Completion program in preparation for the FAA exam.

Community Colleges of Spokane
Fall classes at the Community Colleges of Spokane start Aug. 3. The school offers general education, computer and math classes.
To schedule an advising appointment with a counselor or to ask questions, call 533-8937. Web registration is available to current Fairchild students, or students can register at the education center.

Park University
- On-site and internet classes for Fall I, Term I, begin August 20. Registration is in progress for online classes and will begin on July 23 for onsite classes. Register early for Internet classes. For information, go to www.park.edu/fair, call 244-2020 or e-mail fair@ park.edu.
- Fairchild's Park University Campus Center will be offering the Writing Competency Test July 17. Students should sign up at least two terms prior to taking EN306/CJ441/CJ450. A passing WCT score is a prerequisite to register for EN306/CJ441/CJ450 and a graduation requirement. Call the Fairchild Campus Center at 244-2020 to schedule a WCT test date.
- Park's Online Learning program offers seven Bachelor of Science degree completion programs online and more than 250 internet courses, including general education classes, each term. For information, call 244-2020 or email fair@park.edu.
