Fairchild's Health Protection Condition Level: BRAVO +

On Jan. 30, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a public health emergency of international concern for the 2019 novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. On Jan. 31, 2020, the secretary of Health and Human Services declared a public health emergency in the United States and announced new measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The current epidemic, which originated in mainland China, has demonstrated the capacity of COVID-19 to spread globally. While supporting other government agencies’ response to the COVID-19 threat, the Department of the Air Force is responding appropriately to protect the health of the force and maintain operational readiness.

  • DOD releases overseas stop movement order in response to COVID-19

    Building upon previously enacted movement restrictions governing foreign travel, permanent change of station moves, temporary duty and personal leave, this stop movement order will also impact exercises, deployments, redeployments and other global force management activities. Approximately 90,000 Service Members slated to deploy or redeploy over the next 60 days will likely be impacted by this stop movement order.
  • Air Force basic trainee tests positive for COVID-19

    Air Force officials announced, March 25, a trainee in the Air Force’s basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Air Force works with project owners to protect health of Airmen and families amid COVID-19 outbreak

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center is coordinating with each project owner for their specific plan on minimizing social interaction and increasing social distancing at their projects while maintenance is being performed in Airmen’s homes and during leasing operations.
  • Medical, dental elective procedures postponed 60 days due to COVID-19

    The policy applies to all beneficiaries: active duty service members and their families, retirees, and Reserve and National Guard service members on active duty or a delayed effective date active duty order.
  • Air Force is protecting Airmen while protecting the nation

    The critical responsibilities and missions of our 685,000 Total Force active duty, Guard and Reserve Airmen do not fade even during a pandemic. Across a worldwide enterprise, our Airmen must remain healthy so they can maintain full readiness and the capability to protect our nation’s security and interests.
