Operations support Airmen welcome new commander

Lt. Col. Matthew Coleman took the reins from Lt. Col. Timothy Danielson as the 92nd Operations Support Squadron commander here July 9.

Coleman promotes within Team Fairchild from his previous role as the 92nd Air Refueling Wing chief of safety.

The change of command ceremony is an official, formal and brief ceremony that is the military's way of bestowing command responsibility of a unit from one officer to another. This ceremony formalizes the change of command by the passing of the symbol of command, the squadron guidon, from the relinquishing commander to the gaining commander.

Lt. Col. David Pike, the 92nd Operations Group deputy commander, presided over the ceremony.
