  • Fairchild implements personal airframe exoskeletons

    Airmen from the 92nd Maintenance Squadron now have an airframe exoskeleton, a personal apparatus that straps onto a user’s back and arms to relieve shoulder and back pressure, July 17, 2020. The exoskeleton assists Airmen while they are holding heavy parts above their head and works to relieve pressure and prevent injuries, allowing Airmen and aircraft to remain mission ready.
  • Fairchild Chapel hosts virtual VBS

    The Fairchild Air Force Base Chapel virtually hosted their annual Vacation Bible School for Airmen and their families on base to participate within their homes June 22-26. VBS is an annual event hosted by the base chapel, full of activities and games for Fairchild youth to learn more about the stories of the bible; this year’s theme builds spiritual resiliency through the “Power of Jesus”.
  • 93rd ARS returns home after 7-month deployment

    Team Fairchild welcomed over 76 Airmen from the 92nd Maintenance Group and 92nd Operations Group after returning from a seven-month deployment, July 1, 2020, making it one of the longest deployments the KC-135 Stratotanker has ever seen. Despite all of the increased protective measures due to coronavirus disease 2019 and the length of the deployment extended by three months, these Airmen maintained mission readiness and resiliency throughout their deployment.
  • Team Fairchild welcomes new commander to famous 92nd

    Col. Cassius T. Bentley III assumed command of the 92nd Air Refueling Wing from Col. Derek Salmi during a change of command ceremony here, July 1. Lt. Gen. Sam Barrett, 18th Air Force commander, presided over the ceremony that was less than 50 people due to current COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions.
  • Fitness Center reopens, keeping Airmen fit to fight

    Team Fairchild’s Fitness Center reopened its doors to Airmen, following its temporary close, on June 22 as part of the latest measures enacted in Health Protection Condition Bravo +. With Air Force physical fitness tests set to resume in October 2020, the gym reopening provides Airmen the opportunity to improve their physical fitness and prepare for their upcoming tests, while also maintaining their mental and physical resilience.
  • Fairchild medical clinic changes locations for all patients

    The 92nd Medical Group here changed clinic locations for patients to align with the Air Force Medical Service and Defense Health Agency reforms June 18. All active duty service members will be seen on the first floor of the Fairchild medical treatment facility, while all non-active duty patients, active duty family members, retirees, retiree’s dependents, and those with TRICARE Plus will move to the second floor.
  • Team Fairchild Pharmacy adapts, overcomes COVID-19 challenges

    The 2019 Coronavirus has affected various aspects of Team Fairchild’s medical beneficiary’s services, however this has not stopped the 92nd Medical Group pharmacy from providing its patients their benefits in the safest way possible through the utilization of the Satellite Pharmacy.
  • 509 WPS partner with Fairchild for WSINT exercise

    The 509th Weapons Squadron partnered with the 92nd Operations Group to participate in U.S. Air Force Weapons School Integration, a large in-house exercise that serves as the capstone for the Weapon School classes, over the Nevada Test and Training Range from May 26 to June 11 at Nellis Air Force Base. Weapons School Integration is a five-and-a-half-month course, followed by a three-week exercise, where all weapons schools come together and perform peer-to-peer combat to perfect their skills as much as possible.
  • Team Fairchild 92nd OG hosts ‘quarantition’ competition

    Team Fairchild’s 92nd Operations Group hosted a quarantine competition on May 20, for Airmen to stay physically and mentally resilient amid the coronavirus disease pandemic. The ‘quarantition’ consisted of a variety of fitness and video game competitions for Airmen across the group to represent their squadron and compete to find the most active and involved squadron.
  • Team Fairchild honors Shell 77 crew during virtual ceremony

    Despite the challenges of the Coronavirus Disease 2019, Team Fairchild hosted a memorial for the deceased Shell 77 Airmen at the base memorial park, May 4, 2020. The memorial honors the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron’s Airmen: Capt. Tyler Voss, Capt. Victoria Pinckney, and Tech. Sgt. Tre Mackey III, who lost their lives to a tragic accident while deployed to the 22nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, May 3, 2013.
