    The exception is for personnel who are authorized to carry a concealed weapon under the Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act. LEOSA applies to active and retired law enforcement officers, to include military policemen, and authorizes the carry of concealed weapons in any jurisdiction in the United States.

  • Newest chiefs recognized during Ceremony

    Two chief master sergeant selects, Chad Madore and Shane Sweeney, were recognized during Fairchild’s Chief Recognition Ceremony Mar. 25, at the Red Morgan Center. The ceremony has been held annually since 1958 to provide recognition to those who have been selected for promotion to the highest enlisted grade in the Air Force. The tradition highlights the added responsibilities and the importance of being part of the top one percent of the enlisted armed forces.
  • MEFF upgrades launch

    Fairchild’s Warrior and Ross Mission Essential Feeding Facilities launched their healthier, made-to-order options Mar. 27. The options are an expansion on the standard Food Transformation Initiative operation, making Fairchild the third base in the Air Force to incorporate the healthier and cost saving Super Sonic Subs, CIAO Pizza and Big City Grill.
  • 384th ARS joins Fairchild’s flying force

    Lt. Col. Sean McClune assumed command of the 384th Air Refueling Squadron during an Assumption of Command ceremony Mar. 23, at Fairchild Air Force Base.
  • Fairchild firefighters help extinguish local fire

    Firefighters from the 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron along with firefighters from Medical Lake, Airway Heights, Spokane and Spokane County Districts 3, 9 and 10 responded to a house fire near Barker Street in Medical Lake, early Mar. 14. The Fairchild Emergency Communication Center dispatched the information to the base fire department at 12:45 a.m. Fairchild Airmen were the third to arrive on the scene.
