  • Fairchild regains historic 97th ARS memorabilia

    A KC-135 Stratotanker and aircrew from Fairchild AFB retrieved the 97th Air Refueling Squadron’s heritage box from Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, Aug. 20. Inactive since Sept. 30, 2004, the squadron’s box full of memorabilia brings the squadron’s history to light as they prepare to reactivate here on Oct. 1, 2019.

  • Fairchild Airman wins 2018 American Legion Spirit of Service Award

    A Team Fairchild Airman was awarded the 2018 American Legion Spirit of Service Award at the annual American Legion Department Convention June 19. Airman 1st Class Nicholas Loew, 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Distribution specialist, was presented the award for his extensive community involvement on and off base.
  • Airmen from 22d EARS honor Shell 77 legacy

    Airmen from the 22d Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron and the tanker community paused for 77 seconds of synchronized silence to commemorate the legacy of the fallen heroes of “Shell 77” May 3, 2019, at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Six years ago, the air refueling community lost three of their own when a KC-135R crashed in Chaldovar, Kyrgyz Republic, after departing to conduct a combat mission. The aircrew members who died were Capt. Mark T. Voss; Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney; and Tech Sgt. Herman “Tre” Mackey III., who were deployed to the 22d EARS in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
  • Commander addresses Team Fairchild on ‘State of the Wing’

    Col. Derek Salmi, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, hosted three “State of the Wing” all-calls to discuss upcoming events for the wing, the way ahead on housing concerns and initiatives such as Fairchild University and Inland Spark Mar. 18, 20 and 22. Salmi also discussed his priority for the 92nd ARW to maintain full spectrum readiness, which goes beyond donning mission oriented protective posture gear.

  • Team Fairchild performs all -women refueling flight

    An all-female air refueling mission was performed by Team Fairchild Airmen today in honor of Women’s History Month at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. The effort highlighted women’s integration in every aspect of the 92nd Air Refueling Wing mission, which is to provide responsive air refueling and agile combat support across the full-range of military operations.

    Team Fairchild honors the Air Force’s Biomedical Sciences Corps’ 54th anniversary by participating in the Air Force’s recognition of BSC Appreciation Week 28 Jan. through 1 Feb. The BSC comprises of a diversified range of subject matter experts within the Air Force’s patient care systems, such as optometry, clinical psychology, pharmacy, physical therapy and many more.
  • Treats 2 Troops sends holiday spirit abroad

    During the month of December, more than 40 holiday care packages made their way to Team Fairchild Airmen stationed at Morón Air Base, Spain, as part of KREM 2 News’ initiative, Treats 2 Troops.
