    According to a newly released communiqué from the Air Force’s Personal Property Activity Headquarters, “Department of Defense demand this peak (PCS) season has greatly exceeded commercial industry capabilities, largely due to resource constraints associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Per industry, this resulted in a 25% decrease in their labor pool, resulting in (decreased) personal property movement capacity necessary to support private sector and government demand.”

    ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Approximately 1.5 million people worldwide have tested positive for COVID-19, making vaccination efforts more crucial than ever. A team of approximately 140 Airmen from 24 bases spread throughout the U.S., including Fairchild Air Force Base, have come together in St. Paul to help support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in an effort to vaccinate Americans against COVID-19. Airmen from the 92nd Medical Group began their support in April at the St. Paul Vaccination Center (CVC), where around 3,000 vaccinations are distributed daily.
  • COVID-19 vaccine arrives to Fairchild

    Team Fairchild’s 92nd Medical Group received its first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine Jan. 15, to be distributed to Airmen. Beginning Jan.15, the 92nd MDG will administer the vaccine in accordance with the Department of Defense’s phased approach, which prioritizes first responders, health care workers, public safety personnel and select deploying individuals.
