The American and prisoners of war/missing in action flags fly at half-staff at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, in honor of the 2,977 innocent lives lost on 9/11 in New York, the Pentagon and fields of Pennsylvania, Sept. 11, 2014. Although more than a decade has passed since the Sept. 11 attacks, time will never replace the lives lost on that day. The base will hold a remembrance ceremony today at 4 p.m. at the wing flag pole.
