Fairchild Airmen airlifted a historic F-105B Thunderchief display May 1, to make repairs to the footings.

This aircraft has been at the Fairchild Heritage Park since 1981, and was dedicated on behalf of Washington native, Capt. James Shively, a F-105 pilot and prisoner of war in Vietnam.

There are plans in place to have many repairs done to Fairchild’s Heritage Park, one of which is having the A-26 Invader repaired and repainted. There will also be volunteer opportunities in the works to get people out to the park to help with cleanup and other maintenance.
