  • Fairchild’s Airmen support KC-46A, B-52 training

    Airmen from Fairchild’s 384th Air Refueling Squadron supported a KC-46A Pegasus during a training operation with a B-52 Stratofortress in the Northwest region of the United States, Oct. 3, 2018. The purpose of the training mission was to test the new refueler’s capability to perform inflight refueling connections specifically with the B-52 airframe.
  • Fairchild KC-135s, Airmen support Operation Juniper Micron

    Fairchild KC-135 Stratotankers, Airmen, and support equipment, deployed to continue partner support to France as part of Operation Juniper Micron in Spain, September 2018.
  • Dependents and retirees can now renew ID online

    Active duty dependents and retirees are now able to renew their identification cards online as of March 2018. Family members of active duty Airmen and retirees are only allowed to use the application to begin their renewal.
  • Changes to TRICARE Retiree Dental Program

    The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program ends on Dec. 31, 2018. Beginning in 2019, dental and vision plans will be available through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program.
  • Commissary’s birthday & new shopping savings

    Today is the Defense Commissary Agency’s birthday and the launch day for the new customer portal, MyCommissary, which lays the foundation for more ways to shop and offers patrons online-access to their commissary’s biweekly sales flyer and reward card coupons.
  • Fairchild’s EOD Airmen respond to suspected UXO

    Airmen from the 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Team responded to a call regarding possible unexploded ordnance in Moscow, Idaho, Sept. 27, 2018.
  • Fairchild Airman innovates KC-135 nose gear maintenance operations

    An Airman from the 92nd Maintenance Group used his innovative ideas to potentially save the KC-135 Stratotanker fleet more than $1 million in parts and man-hours by creating a unique piece of equipment. Tech. Sgt. Shawn Roberge, 92nd MXG aircraft structural maintenance section chief, had the idea of creating a nose landing gear door lock. This part will alleviate damage to areas surrounding the underbelly of the Stratotanker.
  • Fairchild hosts CMSAF Binnicker 9K Memorial Run

    Airmen and civilian members participated in the CMSAF Binnicker 9K Memorial Run benefitting the Air Force Enlisted Village at Miller Park here Sept. 22, 2018. The Air Force Sergeant’s Association hosted the event in honor of Chief Master Sgt. James Binncker, who served as the ninth Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force, was the CEO of the Air Force Enlisted Village from 2000 through 2015 and is credited for building the foundation of what the AFEV stands for.
  • USTRANSCOM commander visits Fairchild

    U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Lyons, U.S. Transportation Command commander, visited Fairchild Air Force Base Sept. 19, 2018. Lyons visited to discuss mission-readiness, engage with Airmen and learn about the KC-135 Stratotanker.
