Fairchild honors those who lost their lives in B-52 crash with 30th anniversary commemoration ceremony

A memorial plaque honoring the victims of the Fairchild Air Force Base hospital shooting and B-52H Stratofortress, call sign “CZAR 52,” crash displays the names of those who lost their lives during those events at Fairchild AFB, Washington, June 24, 2024. On June 24, 1994, CZAR 52, crashed while practicing maneuvers for an airshow. The crash occurred four days after an active shooter incident in the base hospital and claimed the lives of Col. Robert Wolff, Lt. Col. Mark McGeehan, Lt. Col. Kenneth Huston and Lt. Col. Arthur “Bud” Holland. The 92nd Air Refueling Wing leadership team hosted the victims’ family members for a memorial service to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the crash.
