Senior Airman Mateus Shaal, a base honor guardsman assigned to the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, rings a bell to honor the victims of the B-52H Stratofortress, call sign “CZAR 52,” crash during a commemoration ceremony at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, June 24, 2024. On June 24, 1994, CZAR 52, crashed while practicing maneuvers for an airshow. The crash claimed the lives of Col. Robert Wolff, Lt. Col. Mark McGeehan, Lt. Col. Kenneth Huston and Lt. Col. Arthur “Bud” Holland. The 92nd Air Refueling Wing leadership team hosted the victims’ family members to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the crash.
