Tech Sgt. Joseph Young, 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuel facility noncommissioned officer in charge, adjusts a headset during a virtual reality training session for suicide prevention at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Aug. 22, 2023. During the training, Airmen were taught to utilize the Ask, Care, Escort (A.C.E.) model to assist Airmen who demonstrate or express possible thoughts of suicide. This process includes asking direct questions about thoughts of suicide, caring for Airmen by calmly expressing concern and removing access to lethal means, and escorting Airmen in need to a helping resource or agency. Fairchild AFB is the first base to participate in formal evaluation of virtual reality suicide prevention training. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Stassney Davis)
