A Day in History: Apr. 25, 1945

The 92nd Bombardment Group was a B-17 Flying Fortress group consisting of the 325th, 326th and 327th Bombardment Squadrons. The group was constituted Jan. 28, 1942, and activated Mar. 1, 1942, at Barksdale Field, Louisiana. In the late fall of 1942, the group was assigned to the 8th Air Force in England where they participated in more than 300 operational bombings including Normandy, Operation Market Garden, Rhineland and Ardennes-Alsace.
