Maj. Gen. Sharpy visits Fairchild

Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Sharpy, 18th Air Force commander, and Airman 1st Class Logan Crytzer, 92nd Force Support Squadron firefighter, pose for a picture before they cut the cake for the Air Force birthday Sept. 18, 2015, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Crytzer, as the youngest member of the 92nd ARW, was selected to assist Sharpy in the traditional cake cutting ceremony. Since 1942, Fairchild AFB has been a key part of our nation's defense strategy from WWII as a repair depot, to a Strategic Air Command bomber wing during the Cold War, to an Air Mobility Command air refueling wing during Operations Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve.
