Women in Service

As of Dec. 3, the Department of Defense has fully eliminated the “1994 Direct Ground Combat Definition and Assignment Rule,” which was the primary policy restricting the integration of women into all military occupational specialties and career fields within the United States Armed Forces. The DOD opened the remaining closed positions, which included 52 military occupational specialties and approximately 213,600 positions.
