Block 45

Maj. John Chappelle, 92nd Air Refueling Squadron chief of standardization and evaluation, explains the new Block 45 upgrades interface and what it does for the pilot to base leadership Oct. 23, 2015, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. The Block 45 greatly improves the automation of the aircraft and makes the mission of fueling the fight easier for the pilots of the KC-135 Stratotanker. The Block 45 upgrade consists of a new, more advanced auto pilot, radio altimeter, digital liquid crystal display and several other small changes to the interface.
