Joint exercise highlights medical capabilities

Capt. Amanda Roby, 141st Medical Group, prepares surgical equipment for a patient suffering a simulated liver laceration during a joint exercise Oct. 31, 2014, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Roby was part of a five-man team assisting members with surgical needs in a simulated combat environment. The exercise also included UH-72 Lakota helicopters, assigned to the Army's 168th Aviation Regiment, which dropped the team into the simulated combat zone.
