HAZMAT exercise strengthens response capabilities

A decontamination team member sprays another exercise participant down during a mutual-aid hazardous materials emergency response exercise Dec. 10, 2014, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. This four day exercise consisted of around 40-60 members each day from Fairchild and the Spokane, Wash. community fire and HAZMAT response teams. Scenarios used during the exercise varied from train derailments to a gas leaked inside the heating and ventilation systems of a building. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Mary O'Dell)
