Spokane boy becomes an ‘Airman for a Day’

Zayne Rutter sits in the pilot seat of a KC-135 Stratotanker while he was the 'Airman for a Day' July 11, 2014, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. Zayne was hit in a nearly-fatal vehicle accident in May and has been in and out of hospitals since. This program allows children like Zayne to experience the Air Force for a day and escape the current challenges they may be facing. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Veronica Montes/Released)
