Retreat commemorates 9/11

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Col. Thomas Sharpy, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, speaks to a crowd of almost 1,000 Airmen and guests during a Patriot’s Day Retreat here Sept. 11. The ceremony was held in honor of the men and women who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, seven years ago. The colonel, who was serving at the White House in Washington D.C., as Senior Military Aide to the Vice President of the United States during the attacks, thanked attending Airmen for their service to the United States and the Global War on Terrorism.
