Fairchild Airmen build Habitat homes

SPOKANE, Wash. – From left, Staff Sgt. Paul Maples and Senior Airman Michael Gerry of the 66th Training Squadron at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., lay out a window frame on a Habitat for Humanity home March 13. About 15 Airmen from the 66th TRS volunteered their off day to work on the home, which is part of a Habitat-Spokane project of 31 Union Street homes started in 1999. Habitat sells the constructed homes to low-income families at cost with a zero-percent interest rate, made possible mainly because of the volunteer labor. (U.S. Air Force photo / Tech. Sgt. Larry W. Carpenter Jr.)
