Local Community appreciates military

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Three hundred gift baskets containing teddy bears and treats were made by the local community Dec. 16. The gift baskets were distributed to children of deployed servicemembers. Making morale baskets is a way the Kalispel Tribe, Northern Quest Casino and Operation Spokane Heroes show the community they care. "It's a project I look forward to every year. It's a lot of hard work.” said Jennifer Simmons, community relations coordinator for Northern Quest Casino. “It doesn't look like it by seeing the baskets, but it takes a lot of planning and a lot of devotion. It's just one way that the Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Casino give back to the community. It's just a labor of love, and every year we just adore doing it."
