6S spells success

Col. Robert Thomas, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. David Nordel, 92nd ARW command chief, walk through 23,000 lbs of old desks, filing cabinets, and couches collected during the first day of 6S at Hangar 1023 Feb. 3. 6S stands for Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain and Safety. It is an Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century tool to help get people organized which make tasks run more smoothly and efficiently, removing unused furniture and clutter, minimizing safety hazards. More than 20 volunteers from different squadrons took part in this “spring cleaning” event. (U.S. Air Force photo / Airman 1st Class Melissa L. Barnett)
