FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Leo Hymas speaks at a Holocaust Remembrance ceremony here May 2 of his time in the Army. Mr. Hymas was a member of the Army team that liberated the Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald in April 1945. At the time of the liberation, the slave-labor camp held prisoners of more than 50 nationalities. One of those end-of-war prisoners was Nobel Prize-winning author and political activist Eli Wiesel.
