Arbor Day

Col. Robert Thomas, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, Bo Smith, chief wing protocol and Tech. Sgt. Teresa Tillman, protocol also from the 92nd ARW, plants a tree at Fairchild’s white house. The tree planting ceremony took place on April 1 and celebrates Arbor Day, which is a nationally recognized observance that encourages tree planting and care. Fairchild was also named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to community forestry. This is Fairchild’s 15th year being recognized with this national recognition. Fairchild also received this award for demonstrating progress in its community forestry program in the following area: Planning and management, tree inventory and analysis, park and open space.
