FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash – The band Pluto on Fire poses for a picture after winning first place in the Battle of the Bands competition at Club Fairchild Oct 23. The band is composed of Senior Airman Mario Menchaca, 92nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron, dental technician, Staff Sgt. Manuel Montalvo, 92nd Medical Operations Squadron, ambulance services, and Senior Airman April Thomas, 92nd Medical Operations Squadron, mental health journeyman. The competition featured four bands from Fairchild with the first and second place band winners receiving $150 dollars. The second round of Battle of the Bands culminates Oct 30 at Club Fairchild and will award $500 dollars to the number one band. (U.S. Air Force photo / Staff Sgt. JT May III)
