Veterans Day service recognizes servicemembers

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Posters representing the five services of the armed forces are displayed on a stage at the Spokane Arena Nov. 11 during the Veteran’s Day celebration. The Guard Band of the Northwest played, two Airmen received Bronze Stars, two Soldiers received Purple Hearts and a Navy Honor Guard performed the 21-gun salute during the ceremony. Special Speakers included the Honorable Ryan Crocker, former ambassador to Iraq and Afghanistan, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Washington’s 5th district and Mayor Mary Verner, city of Spokane.
