Fourth graders go Cuckoo for Camp

Lilli, a fourth grader from Michael Anderson Elementary School, prepares to sample a slug after learning what insects are safe to eat from Fairchild survival specialists while Sawyer, a fourth grader, tries to decide if he wants to taste an insect during the wilderness survival session May 30, 2013, at YMCA Camp Reed. Students had the opportunity to sample other insects such as beetles, worms and a species of flowering plant in the lily family called queen’s cup.
