Col. Konrad Klausner, 92nd Mission Support Group commander, passes the 92nd Security Forces Squadron guidon to Maj. Eric Horst at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., July 12, 2013. The ceremony is a military tradition deeply rooted in history, dating back to the times of the Roman Legion. The organizational banner was exchanged in public for all to see that the one who held the flag was the unchallenged leader of the armies. The modern-day ceremony is principally symbolic, yet it still indicates to all the authority of the incoming commander. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Sam Fogleman/Released)
