FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Lt. Col. Jim Brooks, 141st Operations Group and Program Manager of the C-26 program, receives the Bronze Star Medal from Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and the Commander of the 141st Air Refueling Wing, Col. Gregory Bulkley, during a ceremony Nov. 2 at Fairchild. He received this medal for meritorious achievement in his work to develop the first concept of operations for a new deployed mission within the Special Operations Command. FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Col. Robert Thomas, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. David Nordel, 92nd Air Refueling Wing command chief, pose with a Bronze Star Medal certificate signifying the command chief’s meritorious achievement while forward deployed to a combat environment. The command chief received the medal for his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom January – July 2008, where he served as superintendant of the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group and the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing as a catalyst for 2,132 combat-related trauma resuscitations, 1,516 intensive care admissions, and 2,732 air evacuation missions.
