Team Fairchild demonstrates strategic deterrence readiness during Titan Fury 24-1
Airman 1st Class Robert Jobson, a crew chief assigned to the 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, climbs up a ladder on a KC-135 Stratotanker during exercise Titan Fury 24-1 at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Nov. 13, 2023. Titan Fury is a recurring total force exercise that ensures Fairchild’s Airmen are trained and ready to provide Rapid Global Mobility at a moment’s notice in support of strategic deterrence and the National Defense Strategy. During the exercise, Airmen demonstrated how various support activities contribute to generating and mobilizing KC-135s including security, maintenance, services, fuel operations and others. For decades, the KC-135 has been the backbone of air refueling around the globe because of its ability to extend global reach and project U.S. air power. This exercise is an example of how the 92nd Air Refueling Wing and the 141st Air Refueling Wing at Fairchild AFB are engaged, postured and ready with a credible force to assure, deter and defend in an increasingly complex security environment. Fairchild First Sergeants use teamwork, training to provide mission-ready Airmen
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kevin Eyre, 92nd Security Forces Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of training, sips coffee during a break in the First Sergeant Symposium at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Nov. 1, 2023. Eyre said his motivation to become a first sergeant comes from a desire to have a positive impact on the culture of a unit and base. First sergeant symposiums provide information and resources to Airmen and future additional-duty first sergeants about the roles and responsibilities of the position. Air Force first sergeants, also known as “shirts,” advise unit commanders on the readiness, health, morale, welfare, and quality-of-life of Airmen and their families to ensure a mission-ready force. The First Sergeants Council at Fairchild AFB was recently recognized as Air Mobility Command’s First Sergeant Council of the quarter. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Matthew Arachikavitz)
