Fairchild Airmen participate in virtual reality suicide prevention training
Airman Amanda Zacarias, an air transportation apprentice assigned to the 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, participates in an interactive virtual reality training session on suicide prevention at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Aug. 22, 2023. During the training, Airmen were taught to utilize the Ask, Care, Escort (A.C.E.) model to assist Airmen who demonstrate or express possible thoughts of suicide. This process includes asking direct questions about thoughts of suicide, caring for Airmen by calmly expressing concern and removing access to lethal means, and escorting Airmen in need to a helping resource or agency.
