Combat Rescue Officer training
FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Candidates of Air Combat Command’s Combat Rescue Officer selection program perform pool exercises Oct. 24 here during the water confidence portion of the program. Phase II of the CRO selection program is hosted by Air Mobility Command and the 336th Training Group, and is held twice a year. Combat Rescue Officer training
FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Two Combat Rescue Officer selection program candidates use one airway tube to breathe under water while a program instructor acts as a distraction. CRO candidates undergo six days of mental, physical and psychological training and evaluations to prepare them to lead combat operations as direct combatant commanders. Real-world field operations are simulated as much as possible during the program, and those who finish the program and are selected as CROs are prepared to command ground recovery teams. Air Force Band to perform in Spokane
FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- The Air Force Band in Washington DC will perform at Ferris High School in Spokane, Wash., Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Both the Concert Band and the Singing Sergeants will perform. The concert is free, but attendees must reserve tickets (for space assurance purposes only) through Ferris High School. Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Ferris High School, 3020 E. 37th Ave, Spokane, WA 99223. Label the envelope with the phrase “Band tickets.” Four tickets maximum per request.
