  • 92nd LRS training supports unmatched air power

Air Mobility Command’s responsibility is to provide Rapid Global Mobility for America through airlift, air refueling, aeromedical evacuation and air mobility support across the globe. With the world’s largest fleet of KC-135 Stratotankers, Fairchild has an integral part in fulfilling AMC’s mission. Aside from the primary mission of air refueling, another tasking the KC-135 is commonly given is moving cargo. Team Fairchild’s Logistics Readiness Squadron Airmen practice quick cargo deployment often to execute air mobility support.
  • Fairchild Airmen enhance deployment line, save countless man hours

As the world modernizes around us, a culture of innovation has swept through the Air Force, encouraging Airmen to enhance nearly every part of our mission. That culture is no different at Fairchild, where a dedicated team of Airmen found ways to save both manpower and time. Newly implemented Weigh-In-Motion scales expedite cargo deployment functions with a more accurate and efficient process, as part of Team Fairchild’s Continuous Process Improvement efforts.
  • Shaw, Fairchild Airmen fuel the fight

A group of F-16CM Fighting Falcons take off from the foggy flightline at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. They soar above the clouds and into the airspace over the Atlantic Ocean, heading east until they can no longer see the land behind them. Despite the meticulous checklists run on aircraft before they take flight, the jets are running low on fuel after being airborne for less than an hour.
  • Fueling around with the mission

Adorned with training computer terminals and dark leather couches, the staging area for the fuels distribution team has the tense air of any waiting room. Refueling equipment operators can be seen pouring over the latest training materials, going over safety checklists and reviewing daily schedules, waiting with anticipation for an order to come through a tiny window in the wall that leads to the fuels dispatcher. A phone rings.
