Airfield systems specialists keep tankers safe Published July 15, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Taylor Bourgeous 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- The 92nd Operation Support Squadron airfield systems specialists balance today's readiness with tomorrow's modernization by ensuring all equipment on the airfield is up-to-date and working within specified standards. Air traffic controllers and pilots depend on them to ensure the systems and equipment are functioning correctly, otherwise the incoming aircraft would have a harder time knowing where to go and wouldn't be able to land safely in inclement weather.
