Fairchild AFB demonstrates strategic deterrence during exercise Mobility Response 25

  • Published

Airmen assigned to the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, 141st ARW and 940th ARW participated in exercise Mobility Response 25 in support of U.S. Strategic Command exercise Global Thunder 25 at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, commenced October 18, 2024.

Mobility Response is an opportunity for Mobility Air Force Airmen to test their ability to respond to and simultaneously support multiple combatant commanders’ requirements, such as USSTRATCOM’s reliable strategic deterrence force.

“Team Fairchild maintains a constant state of readiness, and this exercise was the perfect opportunity for Fairchild and Beale’s Total Force team to demonstrate our combined readiness and ability to operate within a contested environment,” said Col. Chad Cisewski, 92nd ARW commander. “Training evolutions such as this demonstrate our commitment to disaggregate to survive and aggregate to win.”

The KC-135 Stratotanker crews and maintainers played a crucial role in this exercise and GT25, providing essential air-to-air refueling capabilities that are vital for sustaining long-range operations. Exercises like MR25 prepare Airmen to confront uncertainty while enhancing nuclear readiness and providing unique opportunities to hone essential mobility fundamentals.

The 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron played a critical role in the base’s ability to meet exercise objectives.

“We know that much will be asked of us in periods of crisis and conflict, outside of our normal duties, and we are practicing that in Mobility Response,” said Maj. Shane Perry, 92nd LRS commander. “Instead of building a plan based on today’s facts and assumptions or what has worked in the past, as logistics professionals, we constantly live in the future – planning for what could happen.”

U.S. Strategic Command forces, their components and subordinate units are on watch 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, conducting operations to deter and detect strategic attacks against the United States and our Allies. Fairchild Airmen practice tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure they are prepared to meet global requirements.

“The 92nd Maintenance Group is always postured to generate aircraft and Mobility Response 25 gives us a chance to showcase our capabilities,” said Master Sgt. Christopher Hart, 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron production superintendent. “Maintenance works around the clock to prepare and generate aircraft.”
The role of the 92nd ARW and its partners in this exercise underscores Fairchild AFB Airmen’s dedication to provide Rapid Global Mobility, ensuring all echelons survive and operate effectively across the Joint Force.
