Team Fairchild, Cyndi and I wish all of you and your families a safe and joyful holiday break.

This year was one of the busiest on record for Fairchild. Beginning with the closure of our runway and concluding with our planes and Airmen returning before the holidays, 2011 was a year of challenges and opportunities realized. I'm incredibly proud of our team here. Not since Sept 11, 2001, have we seen the OPSTEMPO with which we performed this year.

During the past year we formed an unbeatable team - through trust in each other, integrated support and your personal commitment to excellence, Team Fairchild ensured continuous, and far-reaching, U.S. air operations and support throughout the world.

Fortunately, we've seen a drop in OPSTEMPO this month, and hopefully, you are able to take a breath and spend some time with family and friends, especially during the Holiday Season.

Make sure to keep our deployed members and their families, who are unable to spend the holidays together, in your thoughts and prayers as well. Checking in with the deployed member if possible, and offering support to their family here can make life a little easier during their deployed Holiday Season.

I encourage you to enjoy the holidays, but also ask that you develop and execute good, safe plans. We want you and your family members to return safe, rested, and ready to renew our pace as we prepare for the ORI next year.

Best wishes and enjoy your much needed time with loved ones.
