Fairchild communications Airmen update their vision, mission, focus

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Team Fairchild, I am excited to have the opportunity to tell you a little about what the fine men and women in your fantastic 92nd Communications Squadron are all about!

We have revised our mission statement to help guide our day-to-day efforts. Our Mission is "To provide force-enabling communications services to our mission partners while maintaining a safe, professional and collaborative workplace that fosters professional growth and unit pride."

Although much of our day-to-day effort is spent on behind-the-scenes activities that may be invisible to you, we realize that you are our reason for being. We are your information technology workforce and at the end of the day we only succeed if we are enabling your success with effective communication tools, policies, guidance and planning.

We have also worked hard to develop a new vision statement that captures our desired long-term aspirations. Our vision is to be "A highly trained, customer-focused team of combat-ready communicators with a reputation of partnership and excellence!"

We will maintain our physical and technical readiness to answer the call when tasked. Over the long-term, we will ensure that training remains a top priority so that every member of this organization is a subject matter expert in their part of the mission and better able to serve our customers. We will make materiel investments that improve our ability to provide you with the tools and services you need and enhance your ability to accomplish your mission. We will keep your mission success first and forefront in everything we do.

How are we going to get there? Over the coming months, your communications squadron's focus will be on safe mission accomplishment, developing leaders and proactive customer service.

Most importantly, we will continue to partner with you to better understand your mission needs and to ensure they are met in a safe manner. Where there are areas to improve, your 92nd CS will work with you and other communications support agencies to solve your issues. While meeting your needs, we will give our junior members more and more opportunities to develop as leaders. They are more than capable and are eager to fill their technical and leadership toolkits! These men and women bring new ideas and fresh thinking to everything they do and will certainly figure out how to meet your mission needs better, faster and cheaper.

Finally, we will lean forward to think through our processes and your communications requirements. Where improvements can be made, we'll make them!

So what does all this mean for you? It means your CS is fully engaged in ensuring that this installation's communications services and support are second to none, in the short-term and over the long-term. We look forward to working with you, our mission partners!
