The Combined Federal Campaign had a great start Sept. 28 thanks to Team Fairchild. If you haven't had a chance yet to fill out your pledge form, contact your unit's CFC representative today!

By making a donation through payroll deduction, you can give a little each month without having to sacrifice a large sum of money. So, a $10 per month deduction (only $5 per paycheck if you receive mid-month pay) will result in a $120 donation to your charity. This will ensure your charity has a sustainable income all year round.

Just like any donation to charity, your donation through the CFC is tax deductible. Unlike other donations though, you will not have to keep your receipt or maintain records of your CFC donation because it will show up on your Leave and Earnings Statement. Your money is also protected when you donate through the CFC.

Each regional CFC has a committee, which reviews each charity in the CFC. The committee determines what percentage of each charity's income is used for administrative and fundraising expenses. This percentage is in the book next to each charity's listing. Charities are also not authorized to solicit additional donations from members who gave to them through the CFC. So you can donate to your favorite charity without the worry of additional harassing phone calls or e-mails looking for more money.

During this time of economic recovery, it's more important than ever that those of us with steady incomes give back to our community. Please consider increasing your donation this year to the CFC, and if you've never given to the CFC, know every small donation Team Fairchild members give will really add up to make a big difference in the lives of those in need.
