Zombies are invading. Is your unit prepared?

September is National Preparedness Month and Team Fairchild has a unique way of helping units prepare this year with the first ever Amazing Zombie Race here, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. at Miller Park.

The event challenges four-member unit teams to complete basic preparedness and survival challenges, all while evading “brain-hungry” zombies.

The more people who participate from a unit, the more zombies the unit will have to help runners bring home the trophy. The zombies' goal is to hinder the other teams while clearing a path to victory for their unit team. If a squadron can manage to achieve victory in the race, they will be awarded with the first-ever, Team Fairchild Outstanding Unit Readiness Trophy at the event's conclusion.

Bring families, friends and co-workers for some free ice cream and of course the trophy presentation. Be a part of Fairchild history, grab hold of those bragging rights and show off what your squadron is capable of when faced with the task of defeating Fairchild zombies.

To participate in the race and protect your unit’s team as a zombie, contact the Emergency Management office for more details at (509) 247-2529/4815 or sign up on the Readiness & Emergency Management page found in the 92d CES SharePoint site.
