Col. Brian McDaniel, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, discussed numerous upcoming changes here to include a main gate outbound lane closure, fitness center age restrictions and operational hour changes to the Warrior and Ross Mission Essential Feeding Facilities (or MEFF) during the base's first town hall of the year May 18.

The main gate outbound lanes are scheduled to be closed in the month of June due to a mandatory security upgrade. The T&R Gate will maintain its normal hours of operation, 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. for inbound traffic and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for outbound traffic, Monday through Friday. The Rambo Gate will maintain normal hours for inbound commercial vehicles, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Rambo is schedule to extend operational hours to outbound vehicles to 24/7, with a right turn only at Highway 2.

Another upcoming change at Fairchild is the fitness center 24/7 access policy. All groups and their guests who are authorized use of the fitness center during manned hours will have access to all unrestricted areas. Due to the policy change, the fitness center is also implementing new age restrictions found in Air Force Instruction 34-266, Air Force Fitness and Sports Program, Table 1.1 to various areas within the facility.

The Warrior and Ross Dining Facilities, now referred to as Mission Essential Feeding Facilities, are also seeing change to their operational hours. During the weekdays, the Warrior will be open 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for dinner and will maintain the original hours of 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. for midnight meal. During the weekends, the Warrior will be open 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a breakfast and lunch grill, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and breakfast grill options, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for dinner and will maintain the original hours of 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. for midnight meal.

The Ross, located on the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape side of base, will maintain its original hours during the work week. During the weekend, the Ross will be open 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for dinner.

After briefing the group on upcoming changes to Fairchild, McDaniel opened the floor for questions. Many of the topics discussed included the Key Spouse program, funding for fitness center exercise classes and fitness center age restriction changes.
