NONJUDICIAL PUNISHMENT (ARTICLE 15)

92nd Force Support Squadron

A senior airman received an Article 15 for wrongful use of marijuana, in violation of Article 112a, UCMJ. Specifically, the member tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, the compound found in marijuana, after a random urinalysis test. His punishment consisted of a reduction to the rank of airman first class, suspended forfeiture of $1,041 pay and a reprimand.

92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

A senior airman received an Article 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, in violation of Article 111, UCMJ. Specifically, the member was arrested on base for physically controlling a vehicle while intoxicated. The senior airman received a reduction to the rank of airman first class and a reprimand.

INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION ACTIONS

22nd Training Squadron

An airman was separated for misconduct: drug abuse. In January 2016, this airman received nonjudicial punishment for unlawfully using marijuana in violation of Article 112a, UCMJ. The separation authority, the 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, directed his separation with a General discharge. Moreover, as a result of this discharge characterization, all G.I. Bill benefits were forfeited.

92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron

An airman was separated for misconduct: commission of a serious offense. In January 2016, this airman received nonjudicial punishment for driving under the influence in violation of Article 111, UCMJ. Additionally, this airman had previously received nonjudicial punishment for drinking under the legal age of 21. After waiving his right to a discharge board and submitting a conditional waiver, the separation authority, 92nd ARW commander, directed his separation with a General discharge.

DEMOTION ACTIONS

92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Two airmen were demoted in rank for their failure to meet Air Force physical fitness standards. These airmen each failed their personal fitness test a minimum of three times within their current enlistment. Prior to demotion action, rehabilitative measures were taken in the form of unit directed physical fitness activities, diet and exercise education and formal counseling sessions; however, these efforts proved unsuccessful and their unit commander initiated administrative demotion action. In turn, the demotion authority, the 92nd Maintenance Group commander, found demotion action to be appropriate and reduced them each by one grade.

336th Training Squadron

A technical sergeant was demoted in rank for failure to uphold NCO responsibilities; specifically he was arrested in February 2016 for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. After considering the member's response, the unit commander decided to continue processing the demotion action and, in turn, the demotion authority, the 336th Training Group commander, found the demotion action to be appropriate and reduced the member by one grade to the rank of staff sergeant.
