Name: Staff Sgt. Kayla Reeh

Unit: 92nd Air Refueling Wing Protocol Office

Duty title: Protocol specialist

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild Air Force Base?
Our office organizes and plans wing events. We also process and coordinate distinguished guest visits, and manage and assist points of contacts for events around base.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the fact that I get to work with so many different people. I get a very different perspective being in this office than I did when I was an aircraft maintainer.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Being able to be a mother and wife along with working hard at my job. It makes me proud that I can find a balance between raising my daughter to be a smart and polite young lady, contributing to my household and also coming to work and putting everything I have into what needs to get done.

What is your favorite quote?
"Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't." - Anonymous

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her?
Tech. Sgt. Myron McElroy, my NCO in charge from the 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. He taught me that you can be a fair leader but also get the job done. That as supervisors, we don't have to sacrifice the welfare and morale of our Airmen to get our mission done. He has repeatedly sacrificed his own time to take care of his people and I'm grateful for that!

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why?
My grandmother, Wanneta, who passed away when I was 18. I miss the loving relationship I had with her. She would always make sure I knew, without a doubt, that I was loved but also put me in my place when I needed to come back down to earth after a cliché teenage girl episode.
