Cub Scouts revved up for Pinewood Derby

FAICHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- More than 20 people competed in the 2015 Pinewood Derby for Pack 347 Jan. 31, 2015 here.

The Pinewood Derby included multiple races including Cub Scouts against Cub Scouts and sibling against sibling to see who crafted the fastest Pinewood Derby car. The Pinewood Derby not only consisted of races, but a "Best of Show" category. Col. Brian McDaniel, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander and Chief Master Sgt. Christian Pugh, 92nd ARW command chief judged the "best of show" derby car.

During the event patches were given to deserving Cub Scouts by their Den leaders, Maj. Brad Hickey, 92nd Force Support Squadron force support operations officer and Senior Master Sgt. Lester Gaither, 92nd Maintenance Group superintendent and cub master for Pack 347 awarding Pinewood Derby trophies to the winners of the races.
