Fairchild engineers gear their leader for command

Lt. Col. Ross Gleason took the reins from Lt. Col. Jason Campbell as the 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron commander here July 6.

Gleason joins Team Fairchild from his previous command as the deputy chief, Readiness Division, Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The change of command ceremony is an official, formal and brief ceremony that is the military's way of bestowing command responsibility of a unit from one officer to another. This ceremony formalizes the change of command by the passing of the symbol of command, the squadron guidon, from the relinquishing commander to the gaining commander.

Col. David Stookey, the 92nd Mission Support Group commander, presided over the ceremony.
