The Warrior Dining Facility celebrated its grand re-opening with an outdoor barbecue here Aug. 3, after being closed for renovations since late last year.

The dining facility was closed for more than eight months for the replacement of the Heating Ventilation and Cooling system and repair of the plumbing. The HVAC took the bulk of the time to complete, taking seven months. The plumbing took two weeks to complete.

"We are all glad to be back," said Tech. Sgt. Amy Flores, the 92nd Force Support Squadron Warrior Dining Facility NCO in charge.

The dining facility will be open with the same hours of operation as before, breakfast 5:30 to 8:30 a.m., lunch 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., dinner 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and midnight meal 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. They accept most major credit cards, cash and dorm meal cards. The Warrior also features a new restaurant rotation as well as their regular menu rotation. The restaurant rotation is a short term theme lasting from two to three months that features a different style of food each time. The current rotation is Taco Del Seoul, which is a Mexican meal with Korean flavors, said Kim Bergdoll, the Aramark marketing director.

The dining facility is a force support benefit that offers affordable meal options to not only dorm residents, but the base populace as well, said Bergdoll.

Airman 1st Class Jauna Williams, a 92nd FSS services specialist, and Airman 1st Class Johnathan Swirdle, a 92nd FSS breakfast shift leader, both said the renovations facilitate greater organization and open communication. They said they are also able to use and improve their skills in all the different areas of the dining facility, something they were not able to do before.
