Fairchild's AMC Icon winner headed for Scott

Fairchild Airmen and families sang songs of their choice in AMC Icon here Aug. 20 in hopes of winning the top prize.

Master Sgt. Mike Brown, the 368th Recruiting Squadron flight chief, took first place with his rendition of "At Last" by Etta James. Staff Sgt. Joshua Stanfield, a 92nd Security Forces Squadron security forces member, took second place singing "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness and Staff Sgt. Danielle Fulgham, a 336th Training Support Squadron network support technician, took third place singing "One and Only" by Adele.

The AMC Icon program is loosely based around the hit TV program, American Idol, and allows local contestants to compete for $1,000 in cash prizes. The top active duty Air Force vocalist will compete for $2,000 in cash prizes at the command level. Brown earned first place in Fairchild Air Force Base's competition, winning $500 and a ticket to Scott Air Force Base, Ill., for the Command Finals.
