Since 1973 the Total Force Integration Policy has been in effect. Fairchild Airmen conducted a base tour for Lt. Cmdr Jake Roberts, Navy Operations Support Center Spokane commanding officer, and Chief Petty Officer Laura L. McDonald, NOSC Spokane senior enlisted leader, to demonstrate how the Air Force supports their unit through a Host Area Agreement.

During the tour, Roberts and McDonald saw the base's day-to-day flight and maintenance operations in addition to reviewing many of the resources available per the HAA, such as medical and fitness facilities, legal assistance and other support functions. The TFI policy and HAA establish local support relationships between the Air Force and Navy agencies to improve quality of life for Navy personnel.

"The idea is to build upon this relationship by meeting the supporting agencies and the individuals that make the mission happen," said Tech. Sgt. Christopher Pedersen, 92nd Air Refueling Wing executive assistant to the command chief. "Each stop provided an opportunity to hear Fairchild's story along with seeing the mission in action."

Focusing on the HAA, the tour incorporated visiting various agencies that reflect the 92nd ARW's mission as well as meeting with support agencies that are identified within the agreement.

Chief McDonald said she was impressed with the dedication and professionalism of the Airmen throughout the base, found the tour highly beneficial and is happy with the new partnership with the base.
