Military Saves Week is an annual opportunity held in February for installations and organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for service members and their families to assess their own saving status.

This year, Military Saves Week is held from Feb. 22-26. The campaign dedicates a week each year to encourage people to reduce debt, have a plan and be successful in their finances.

"Every year we always try to encourage people to take the savers pledge," said Melissa Still, 92nd Force Support Squadron community readiness consultant.

By signing up online to take the savers pledge, Airmen and their dependants basically are making a pledge to themselves to get their finances on track Still added. When making the pledge, the member will then receive an email and will be able to get their credit score and credit report for free.

"Everybody is invited. If they can get on base, they are invited to the classes," she said. "We have a huge retirement population as well as civilians. We are trying to reach all audiences."
